Hope for Change

On New Years Eve in 2024, my younger brother Harvey was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. This was a huge shock to our family and is a challenge that we are still learning to adapt to.  However, we have received the best support from our local diabetic nurses, doctors, and dieticians, helping Harvey to understand his new day-to-day lifestyle, as well as the rest of our family in how we can help him and improve our awareness of living with Type 1 Diabetes. Because of this, I want to give back to the amazing people who do research and provide medical aid within this area.

Breakthrough T1D funds world-class research, supports the T1D community and campaigns for broader NHS provision of treatments and technologies. Their collaborations with the best researchers in the world have led to new developments in diabetes technology and treatment.

Just £10 could help towards the next big T1D breakthrough.

Whatever you can donate, it is really appreciated - Thank you!

Your support to my challenge has helped me provide:

Introducing Myself

Friday 14th Mar
Hi, I'm Chloe!
I'm a student currently studying Law at the University of Leicester, but I'm originally from a small town in Northern Ireland.  I've always wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone, this year especially as I have started my first year at University and I want to take as many opportunities as possible.

I am doing this fundraiser in support of my younger brother, Harvey, who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on New Year's Eve.  This news had come to a shock to our entire family, but we have had the best support system around us through diabetic nurses and dieticians guiding us on how we can help Harvey navigate his new lifestyle.  This support has lifted his spirits and brought back the joy to my brother's face, and I'll forever be grateful for those who made him feel less alone with his diagnosis.

I would strongly encourage anyone to donate to Breakthrough T1D who are developing more and more aid for those with Type 1 Diabetes.  It is an amazing cause, and I hope any money donated will make a huge difference.

Thank you to my Sponsors
