400,000 people currently live with type 1 diabetes in the UK and I want to play my part in changing that.

I’m joining Team JDRF for Climb 1 For Type 1: Ben Nevis on Saturday 17 August. I’ll be hiking knowing I'm helping make a difference to the lives of people living with type 1.

JDRF UK fund world-class research that one day will cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes and its complications. JDRF also support the type 1 community and campaign for broader access to life-changing treatments. Their collaborations with the best researchers in the world have led to new developments in diabetes technology and treatment.

Climb Ben Nevis for Jacob

Monday 5th Aug
My son Jacob was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes nearly 3 years ago. As with many other families it turned our lives upside down, he manages it really well due to the technology and advances that are being made but it’s still a constant struggle and my hope for him is that some day there will be a cure for him and that he will be able to lead a life were he doesn’t have to make all of the life shading decisions that he does today. I love u matey and I’m climbing for you xx
