She did it! 💪🏼

At just 3 years old, our little superstar managed to walk (and run!) 5km with barely any carrying, she absolutely smashed it! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, it really means the world to us. To raise money for a cause so close to our hearts, and to hopefully one day find that all important cure. We are beyond proud of Isabella for her big walk, but mainly for her showing this disease everyday that she's the boss, not diabetes 💪🏼 When we put Isabella to bed that evening we told Isabella we were proud of her and she replied "I'm proud of me too" 🥹💗 Keep smashing it girly!

Isabella's 5km Walk

On 22nd June, our little superhero, Isabella, will be walking 5km in London to raise important funds for Type 1 Diabetes.
Thanks to JDRF and Diabetes UK, the technology Isabella has exists and makes her life so much better. As parents, we strive for a world without diabetes and the hope for a cure.

In November 2022, Isabella was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. In that moment, all our lives changed.
From that moment forward and forever more, Isabella has to inject insulin and monitor her blood sugar levels 24/7. Her fluctuating levels cause many side effects. Until she's old enough and understands it, Jon and I take the strain of diabetes away from her, and shoulder it all as if it's our own illness.

Type 1 diabetes is a chronic illness which requires constant monitoring of blood sugar levels. Thanks to amazing technology, for Isabella this means wearing a Dexcom sensor which monitors her levels 24/7. Alongside this she wears an insulin pump, which allows insulin to be inserted into her system without the need of multiple daily injections. Insulin is needed every time Isabella eats, as well as correcting high blood sugar levels.

I hope you will consider donating to a worthy cause and maybe one day, we can hope to see a cure in Isabella's lifetime.
