One Walk London 2024

In Memory of Katie Anne Morris. Walking to raise money & awareness for those affected by Type 1 Diabetes.

In November 2023 I lost my beautiful little sister Katie to Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), caused by Type 1 Diabetes. Katie was only 16 when she passed away and losing her has completely devastated both myself and my family.

We have decided to sign up to JDRFs 'One Walk' in Katies memory to raise funds and help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. We also want to raise awareness to help prevent other families from having to go through the pain of losing a loved one as we have.

Type 1 Diabetes is when the Pancreas does not produce any (or makes very little) insulin. This then causes the level of glucose in your blood to become too high. There are currently 400,000+ people living with Type 1 Diabetes in the UK.

Symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes can include:

- Extreme thirst

- Urinating more frequently

- Feeling very tired

- Weight Loss

For a full list of symptoms please follow the below link

 https://www.jdrf.org/t1d-resources/about/symptoms/

We would greatly appreciate any donations towards this cause, and together we can help JDRF eradicate Type 1 Diabetes for good. Thanks for your support!
