Fundraising for Type 1
Tuesday 9th JunIn September 2025, at the age of 49, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. It came as a complete shock and has changed my life in ways I never expected.
Since my diagnosis, I’ve had to learn how to manage a condition that requires constant attention, from monitoring blood glucose levels to calculating insulin doses and making daily decisions that many people never have to think about. While technology and treatment have come a long way, there is still no cure for Type 1 diabetes.
That’s why I’m taking on a 10k walk to raise money for Breakthrough T1D. This incredible charity funds vital research into better treatments, improved technologies, and ultimately a cure for Type 1 diabetes.
