Another hike!
Sunday 31st AugIt's strange to think that I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes almost exactly a year ago (August 27th).
Since then I've had a few diabetes related successes and many failures (such is life living with Type 1). Y'all might remember my first big hike back in May. That was a very nerve wracking "first big hike" experience. Another big hiking accomplishment happened in August with some friends in the USA, we did 30 miles along the Wildwood trail in Portland.
Every short hike I do is becoming more enjoyable as I feel like I have an idea of how things will go. The big hikes and adventures are still a challenge as it feels like I learn something new each time, inevitably things do go sideways and learning the best way to react while also surrounded by support is crucial.
So here we go again! Another big hike, this one a bit shorter (but a bit steeper). I'm looking forward to another event put together with Breakthrough T1D as they provide the support team and it's a good excuse to put together another fundraising effort.
