My son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes 8 years ago and we have seen some amazing advancements in technology over that time. Wouldn't it be amazing if we could find a cure though? There is some superb work going on and I felt I'd like to do my bit this year to raise funds towards this work.
I have registered for the Virtual Triathlon, a challenge for Breakthrough T1D (the type 1 diabetes charity). From 1 February to 29 March, I will be swimming, cycling and walking (my knees don't run any more 😂) towards a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D).
Breakthrough T1D funds world-class research, supports the T1D community and campaigns for broader NHS provision of treatments and technologies. Their collaborations with the best researchers in the world have led to new developments in diabetes technology and treatment.
