T1D SUPPORT

One Walk Edinburgh

We're stronger together

I’m taking part in One Walk Edinburgh to help raise money to fund life-changing research and make a difference to the lives of people affected by type 1!

Breakthrough T1D funds world-class research, supports the T1D community and campaigns for broader NHS provision of treatments and technologies. Their collaborations with the best researchers in the world have led to new developments in diabetes technology and treatment.

This is where you come in. With your support and your generous donations, we can fund Breakthrough T1D’s important work.

Just £20 could help towards the next big T1D breakthrough.

Whatever you can donate, it is really appreciated - Thank you!

My Updates

Why this walk means so much 💙

Friday 10th Apr
On the 14th of June, my boyfriend and I will be taking part in a sponsored walk held by Breakthrough T1D. Held in Edinburgh, this walk will help raise money for Type 1 Diabetes.

This isn’t just a cause for me - it’s my everyday life.

Type 1 Diabetes is relentless.
There’s no days off. No breaks.
It’s constant calculations, injections, and decisions - just to stay alive.

And even when you do everything right, it can still go wrong.

What people don’t always see is the metal and physical toll.
The burnout. The exhaustion. The frustration.

I, and so many others, have lived that, and continue to live that every single day, for the rest of our lives.

At just 23, I was diagnosed with advanced diabetic retinopathy. I’ve had several rounds of laser treatment to both eyes, and had to undergo a vitrectomy surgery on my left eye to try and save my vision. Even now, I have poor vision in my left eye, as well as permanent double vision.

This, and so much more, is why we’re walking.

For better treatments.
For more support.
For a future where no one has to go through this.

Our fundraising goal is as much as we can raise, but £300 is what we have set it to. If you’re able to donate, or even just share, thank you - it truly means everything 💙

Thank you to my Sponsors
