OR

7

children to have an initial screening test to help to detect T1D in its earliest stages to prevent un-diagnosed complications.

400,000 people are currently living with type 1 diabetes in the UK, I want to change that.

I have registered for the Virtual Triathlon, an challenge for Breakthrough T1D (the type 1 diabetes charity). From 1 February to 29 March, I will be swimming, cycling and running towards a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D).

Breakthrough T1D funds world-class research, supports the T1D community and campaigns for broader NHS provision of treatments and technologies. Their collaborations with the best researchers in the world have led to new developments in diabetes technology and treatment.

This is where you come in. With your support and your generous donations, we can fund Breakthrough T1D’s important work. Just £20 could help towards the next big T1D breakthrough. Whatever you can donate, it is really appreciated.

My Updates

Before I start

Wednesday 29th Jan
I am not the fittest so this will be a challenge for me..but I am doing it in the hopes that I can have some impact in supporting research in a small way to finding a cure within my daughter's lifetime.

For context, my daughter was diagnosed type one diabetic at the age of 2 on 31.12.21

We manage it and she copes so well with continuous checks, pokes , set changes, injections, tests, hospital appointments and more.

But a cure to us would look like a full night's sleep, it would mean greater independence spaces, it would mean less incorrect bias'.

We live in hope.
