Penelope's Story

Penelope had the chicken pox last summer but she never quite made a proper recovery and over a couple of months was getting progressively worse. We decided to take her to the walk in centre at the start of September and were sent straight to Blackpool Victoria Hospital. After 3 nights in hospital and what seemed like 100's of tests, finger pricks, injections, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.

To All, As a Type 1 diabetic myself for just over 30 years and diagnosed around a similar time to Penelope I can 100% know the impact has on everyone. Keep positive and no doubt you’ll smash it and best of luck to you all!
