Your support to my challenge has helped me provide:
30
minutes of Breakthrough T1D research bringing us closer to a cure for T1D.
15
printed copies of Breakthrough T1D's Straight to the Point guide. It covers vital information for anyone living with T1D to help manage the condition.
1
children to have an initial screening test to help to detect T1D in its earliest stages to prevent un-diagnosed complications.
400,000 people are currently living with type 1 diabetes in the UK, I want to change that.
My beautiful 8 year old daughter Lacey-Rae was diagnosed with Type 1 on 20th November 2024. Life since Lacey’s diagnosis has been a challenge for us all but she’s an absolute warrior and has taken it in her stride. She’s a superhero and we will do everything in our power as a family to show her that we will forever support her for the rest of her life.
I’m not only doing this for Lacey but all the Type 1s out there as we know first hand just how challenging life with Type 1 is.
From 1 February to 29 March, I will be swimming, cycling and running towards a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D).
Breakthrough T1D funds world-class research, supports the T1D community and campaigns for broader NHS provision of treatments and technologies. Their collaborations with the best researchers in the world have led to new developments in diabetes technology and treatment.
This is where you come in. With your support and your generous donations, we can fund Breakthrough T1D’s important work. Just £20 could help towards the next big T1D breakthrough. Whatever you can donate, it is really appreciated.
All the best, Marie & Tom x
