I have registered for the Virtual Triathlon, an challenge for Breakthrough T1D (the type 1 diabetes charity). From 1 February to 29 March, I will be swimming, cycling and running towards a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D). I am doing this because my daughter, Bella, was diagnosed very suddenly back in September after feeling unwell and being rushed into hospital. She was 2 hours away from a coma.
Breakthrough T1D funds world-class research, supports the T1D community and campaigns for broader NHS provision of treatments and technologies. Their collaborations with the best researchers in the world have led to new developments in diabetes technology and treatment.
