Fighting Type 1 Together: Our Family’s Story 💙

Trekking the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge as a family is more than just a physical challenge for us — it’s something deeply personal.

Type 1 diabetes is close to our hearts because both of our sons live with it every single day. It’s a condition that never pauses. There are no days off from blood sugar checks, insulin calculations, alarms through the night, or the constant balancing act between activity, food, and energy levels. Behind every normal-looking day is careful planning, resilience, and courage.

This trek represents our way of turning that daily challenge into something positive.

As a family, we’ll be climbing over 24 miles across three peaks, pushing ourselves physically and mentally — but our sons already do that every day while managing Type 1 diabetes. Taking on this challenge together is our way of standing beside them, showing our pride in their strength, and raising awareness for the reality of life with Type 1.

We are fundraising for Breakthrough T1D UK, a charity dedicated to improving treatments and accelerating progress toward a cure. Every donation helps support research, innovation, and life-changing support for families like ours.

This journey is for our boys, for the wider Type 1 community, and for a future where no family has to live with the constant demands of this condition.
