We're taking part in One Walk Falkirk (10km) to help raise money to fund life-changing research and make a difference to the lives of people affected by type 1.

Our son, Matthew was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in April 2021. He was 14 years old at the time.It came as a massive shock to us all. It is an autoimmune disease when the pancreas is attacked. It has been a challenging time as everything plays havoc with keeping glucose levels stable, hormones, stress, exersise, heat, cold, illness, you name it and it will have impact on levels. trying to accept it and live with the daily challenges that diabetes brings. It is relentless and our lives have changed massively.

The technology is nowadays amazing but people still have to wait long time to get access to it e.g insulin pumps - NHS simply doesn't have the funding for it.
