Important Information Regarding Tomorrow!!

It’s a long one sorry but PLEASE READ if you are attending the walk tomorrow! 🙏🏻 

Meeting from 10am onwards for face glitters, music and some outdoor games! ✨🎵⚽️ 

Please come and sign in with myself when you arrive! This will include providing your names, contact details and permission for photos taken on the day to be on social media! 📸 
You will find me at the table/gazebo set up near the car park on the field.

Popstars Dance and Scripts&Scores Performing Arts will be warming us up around 10.45am🪩 

The walk will start promptly at 11am and medals will be available from the gazebo once you have completed the walk! 🥇 

Although everyone will receive a medal, unfortunately only those who donated the required amount for participating in the walk and the tshirt, will receive the official BreakthroughT1D medal! 
If you are joining the walk and didn’t order the tshirt & medal, you will still have a medal but not the official one!🥇 

During the walk, please be courteous of other members of the public; pedestrians, cyclists and pets during the route of the walk and please ensure you supervise your children!🧍‍♂️🚴🏾

Pets are welcome but will need to remain on a lead during the walk please. 🐶 🐕 

We will be set up at the starting point with water available if needed and first aid equipment. 💦🩹  

There is a little car park at the end of Radyr Road which is where Hailey Park is located; CF14 2FU and there is also street parking around the area too! Please park appropriately on the nearby streets and be mindful of residents! 🚗 

Please dress accordingly with the weather forecast. Ie hats & suncream for children if sunny and appropriate walking shoes! ☀️👟 

*** Just a reminder to please wear BLUE to the walk if you haven’t got the official T-shirts!👕 *** 

Wellness Grind Pop Up Cafe will be at Hailey Park for you to get your coffee fix! They will be located by the playground at Hailey Park so feel free to stop during the walk to purchase a drink! ☕️ 

There are unfortunately no toilets at Hailey Park however there is a Lidl and Greggs near by who have toilets! 

We have also been in contact with Llandaff North Rugby club, Radyr Road near the car park who have said they’re open from 11am and walkers may use their toilets! 🚽

After you’ve completed the walk, we will be hanging around for an hour or so, so you’re welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the games and music provided! 🎵 but please take all rubbish home with you! ♻️ 

We look forward to walking tomorrow and having a few hours of fun whilst raising awareness around Type 1 Diabetes and showing our T1D children (and adults!) how much support they have! 🫶🏻🫶🏻

We have smashed the £1750 target so I’ve upped it to see if we can reach £2000! 

These funds are so important to help families living with diabetes and to helping find a cure so your donations and sponsors are truly appreciated!!

Just a reminder if you haven’t ordered the breakthroughT1D tshirt to wear for the walk, the colour theme is blue which is the colour associated with Type 1 Diabetes! 

We will plan to meet from 10am where we will have some fun outdoor games and face glitters and the walk will commence at 11am to walk around Hailey Park and along the taff trail for a walk just under 5K! 

We look forward to seeing you all there and again, a huge thank you for all of your support! 

We're coming together to bring our own One Walk to Cardiff to help support Breakthrough T1D

Join us walking together and raising money to help fund the breakthroughs that improve life with T1D today and accelerate progress toward a cure.

Our One Walk Cardiff will take place on Sunday 31st May, meeting at 10am in Hailey Park, Llandaff North, Cardiff for just under 5km walk as a community.

We are asking if you’d like to  join the walk to donate £20 per person taking part which will include a Breakthrough T1D t-shirt and medal. 

£20 could enable Breakthrough T1D to support 20 parents returning to work, safe in the knowledge that their child's type 1 diabetes will be carefully managed at school, thanks to Breakthrough T1D's e-learning modules.
