One Walk London 2025

Walking in Memory of Katie Anne Morris

In November 2023 my beautiful little sister Katie Anne Morris passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) caused by type 1 diabetes.

Katie was only 16 when she passed away and losing her has completely devastated our family.

On Saturday 21st June, me and my family are taking part in a 10km walk for One Walk London to help raise funds and awareness for those affected by Type 1 Diabetes.

Type 1 Diabetes is a chronic condition where the pancreas is unable to (or makes very little) insulin.

This then causes the level of glucose in the blood to become too high.

There are currently 400,000 + people living with Type 1 Diabetes in the UK.

Symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes can include:

- Increased Thirst

- Frequent Urination

- Unexplained Weightloss

- Extreme Fatigue

- Blurry Vision

It would be greatly appreciated if you could share the link or donate to this page to help us raise awareness and funds for those affected by T1D ❤️

Thanks for your support.

Your support to my challenge has helped me provide:

127

minutes of Breakthrough T1D research bringing us closer to a cure for T1D.

OR

63

printed copies of Breakthrough T1D's Straight to the Point guide. It covers vital information for anyone living with T1D to help manage the condition.

OR

5

children to have an initial screening test to help to detect T1D in its earliest stages to prevent un-diagnosed complications.
