On Saturday 2nd May, me and my family are taking part in a 10k Walk in Southend On Sea in memory of Katie ❤️
In November 2023 my beautiful little sister Katie Anne Morris passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) caused by type 1 diabetes.
Katie was only 16 when she passed away and losing her has completely devastated our family.
On Saturday 2nd May, me and my family are taking part in a 10k Walk in Southend On Sea one of Katies favourite places to raise awareness and funds for those affected by type 1 diabetes.
Type 1 Diabetes is a chronic condition where the pancreas is unable to (or makes very little) insulin.
This then causes the level of glucose in the blood becomes too high.
There are currently 400,000 + people living with Type 1 Diabetes in the UK.
Symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes can include:
- Increased Thirst
- Frequent Urination
- Unexplained Weightloss
- Extreme Fatigue
- Blurry Vision
