One Walk Bristol 2025

We're stronger together

I’m taking part in One Walk Bristol to help raise money to fund life-changing research and make a difference to the lives of people affected by type 1!

Breakthrough T1D funds world-class research, supports the T1D community and campaigns for broader NHS provision of treatments and technologies. Their collaborations with the best researchers in the world have led to new developments in diabetes technology and treatment.

This is where you come in. With your support and your generous donations, we can fund Breakthrough T1D’s important work.

Just £20 could help towards the next big T1D breakthrough.

Whatever you can donate, it is really appreciated - Thank you!

Your support to my challenge has helped me provide:

113

minutes of Breakthrough T1D research bringing us closer to a cure for T1D.

OR

56

printed copies of Breakthrough T1D's Straight to the Point guide. It covers vital information for anyone living with T1D to help manage the condition.

OR

4

children to have an initial screening test to help to detect T1D in its earliest stages to prevent un-diagnosed complications.

My Updates

Less than a week to go!

Tuesday 3rd Jun
With only 5 days to go we are getting ready for our walk at the weekend. My surgery went well yesterday so I’ll be ok to walk with my arm in a sling (and plenty of painkillers!)
Remembering why we are doing this - Little P’s life is impacted by T1 diabetes every single action every single day. The awareness and money raised from events like this will improve lives. It will help research new technology and eventually a cure. For now, it will help newly diagnosed young people adjust, which is just as important. If you can spare anything to support us, it would be massively appreciated xx

Hello!

Thursday 27th Mar
Thanks for reading! We are the Blakes and we are taking part in this walk to support our daughter, little P who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 9. This charity works hard to find technology to make life easier for children like her, and maybe one day a cure. Anything you could spare would be much appreciated, I know the day will be a huge challenge for us!
