Breakthrough T1D funds world-class research, supports the T1D community and campaigns for broader NHS provision of treatments and technologies. Their collaborations with the best researchers in the world have led to new developments in diabetes technology and treatment.

Isla Belles Diagnosis of T1D

Friday 18th Jul

Isla was diagnosed in January this year. Thankfully it was caught early before any symptoms started following a UTI. We spent 3 nights in hospital trying to get our heads around this life changing diagnosis and how to manage it. From day 1 Isla has been a superstar taking it all in her stride, very little has phased her over the last 6 months. She has embraced the injections, finger pricks and wearing a monitor. She is now wearing an insulin pump and is doing amazing. We couldn't be more proud of her resilience thought this journey. We decided to do this walk as a family as she loves to meet others just like her and the money raised will help towards research, support and awareness for everyone living with Type 1 diabetes and their families.
