Our son Tom
What would you do to shield your child from the pain of a life-long disease? We've been asking ourselves that question ever since Tom was diagnosed at 12 years old.
And every year (because our answer to that question is 'anything') we raise money for life-saving and life-improving research for those living with T1D.
What BreakthroughT1D, formerly JDRF, has achieved already during Tom's lifetime (he has lived with the disease for more than half his life now) has been crucial in helping him live better and less painfully.
But the cure remains illusive. So we keep hoping and smiling and walking each year.
